Hyundai New Thinker's Index
The New Thinker's Index is an innovative, editorial platform created by Microsoft and sponsored by Hyundai, designed to create a global community of new thinkers. It is an exciting, fresh concept that will result in a hub of organic and original ideas. Irresistible have been commissioned to produce 5 films that explore and implement new thinking. Working alongside Kevin Spacey, Joseph Fiennes and Devlin, as well as a host of other talented individuals, the films explore topics as diverse as guerrilla gardening, Shakespeare vs hip hop and filmmaking in 24 hours.
Guerrilla Gardening
The first of the New Thinker’s Index projects takes us deep into the city. The task is ambitious yet simple; take one dilapidated estate in East London, and transform it from a rusty concrete wasteland in to a colourful communal oasis. The film was shot over a 12 hour period, from dawn till dusk, and calls upon artists, landscapers, photographers and local volunteers to make the vibrant transformations complete. Guerrilla Gardening is a portrait of what is possible when a dedicated group of people pull together.

Royal Shakespeare Rapper
In this project, the New Thinker’s Index brings two culturally juxtaposed yet principally similar worlds to the forefront of its’ exploration. Rap music and William Shakespeare are not the most likely of comparisons to draw, but in this insightful collaboration, we see them collide to reveal their similarities. Classical actor Joseph Fiennes and UK rapper Devlin have one day to write, arrange, perform, record and produce a modern rap song inspired by Shakespeare’s Sonnet 129. In this exploration of rhythm, language and rhyme the boundaries of two cultures are torn down to create an incredible fusion of worlds that were once 500 years apart!

24 Hour Film Project
Under the astute guidance of world class actor and producer Kevin Spacey, an aspiring group of young actors, writers, producers and directors were set the challenge to write, edit and shoot a short film in 24 hours. In this project the New Thinkers Index encourages participants to lose their inhibitions and work with their gut instincts.
Featuring guest cinematographer Danny Cohen (The King’s Speech) and Toby Kebbell (Rock n Rolla) this short accelerates the creative lifespan of a film from stimuli to premiere. The result is a genuine test of new thinking, true collaboration and resiliency when working under tremendous pressure.
