Karen Cunningham
In the eighteen months since Karen Cunningham started directing, she has won no less than eight prestigious industry awards, including a Silver at BTAA, Best New Director at Kinsale, Best New Director at Cannes CFP / Shots, made the front cover of Shots and has been listed as Boards magazine's Top Ten Directors.
Karen started life agency side, she then went over to production where she was instrumental in launching the careers of directors such as Malcolm Venville, Harald Zwart, Daniel Barber and Michael Geoghegan.
In 1998 she formed Pink Film and became one of the UK's most respected production company owners. In January 2008, she teamed up with producer John Golley and formed Spank so that she could concentrate on directing full time. Most recently she has directed a commercial for Electrabel which was featured on Best Ads on TV and has just finished a viral for comic relief starring Bill Nighy and James McAvoy.
